As you may know, the weather can be unpredictable, especially in the Smokies Mountain Range. To help you plan accordingly, check the 15 day weather forecast, courtesy of accuweather. Be sure to pack clothing and prepare your campsite accordingly.
If there is one thing I’ve learned from camping in the mountains, it is that you can never have enough tarps. I personally like to add a tarp over my tent just to be safe and I have never been disappointed in doing so.
In April 2006 the location of our first SCW on the Hiwassee River, we experienced absolutely wonderful fishing but the weather was not perfect. It was windy, cold, and rainy but because we knew in advance what to expect and planned accordingly, we were comfortable, had a wonderful time and as a group landed many trout. |
